Did you know?
A wide variety of programs and services for children and teens are part of the Westchester County budget. These programs, which serve thousands of youth every year and in every community, include screening very young children for developmental problems, helping working parents pay for quality child care, and providing constructive activities during after school and summer hours. The county is also responsible for helping young people facing serious challenges, such as family breakdown, mental illness or substance abuse, or involvement in the justice system.
Programs supported by Westchester County provide essential services and opportunities that help children and youth in all our communities grow up healthy, safe and prepared.
As Westchester Legislators discuss and debate the budget for 2018, they need to hear from youth, parents, program providers and concerned community members that programs for young people should be a priority.
