Thousands of Children in Westchester Need Your Help!
MIECHV funding expired on September 30th . This missed deadline has real implications for real children and families. With every day that passes after the deadline, millions of children, pregnant women and families are left with more uncertainty about whether or not they will have the benefits of home visits.
The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program is still in a compromising position as it has been over 120 days since the program expired. The House of Representatives released a continuing resolution to fund the government through March 23. Although the continuing resolution included many expired programs, including funding for community health centers, it did not include the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program. There is a 95.2% unmet need in Westchester County for home visiting services.
Take action by reaching out to Congress and demand that they renew MIECHV and as soon as possible. Messages are great, but the time to call is NOW!
