Thousands of Children in Westchester Need Your Help!
MIECHV and CHIP funding expired on September 30th . This missed deadline has real implications for real children and families. With every day that passes after the deadline, millions of children, pregnant women and families are left with more uncertainty about whether or not they will have health coverage or the benefits of home visits.
The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are still in compromising positions as it has been well over a month since both programs expired. Though there has been movement in Congress on both of these programs, partisan offsets on funding for CHIP and a potential cut from a five year to two year extension for MIECHV put children at great risk. See below for some insight into how this relates to Westchester's children.
Take action by reaching out to Congress and demand that they renew MIECHV and extend CHIP as soon as possible.
