WCA eBulletin #20 - November 2021

Thank you to County Executive Latimer for including sizeable investments in childcare and youth programs in the Westchester County Executive Budget for 2022.  This shows the commitment of Westchester leadership to prioritize the needs of children and proves that advocacy works!
This year there will only be 1 Board of Legislator public hearing - rather than the usual 3 - held after additions are made so your emails, social media posts, and calls are more important than ever in helping us to put children first in the next year's County Budget.

So use our Advocacy Alert to let Westchester County Leaders hear from you now!

NEW Funding for Child Mental Health is at the center of the CFK 2022 Westchester County Budget Agenda

The pandemic has heightened the strain on the mental health of children and youth and exacerbated the need to improve our data collection and supportive services. This 2022 Westchester County Budget Season, Campaign for Kids, a coalition of 50+ youth-serving agencies raised the mental wellness of school-age children to the top of their list of concerns. WCA listened and added investment of tax-levy dollars for socioemotional resources to the CFK 2022 County Budget Agenda.

WCA eAdvocates, please call the Board of Legislators!

With only 1 public hearing to the Westchester Board of Legislators (BOL) scheduled for December 8th after final additions are made to the Budget, we need your help to speak up for Westchester's kids. It takes just a few minutes to call the Westchester BOL with the script provided and share posts on social media to amplify our message.
